Alles anzeigenIt has been almost two weeks now since the first element of our crew bound for Canada returned back to our offices in Prague. After we interviewed them internally about their trip, we thought it may be interesting to let you know what they got up to! We hope this will be a nice article providing you with more proof that our community is really the #BestCommunityEver!
Our trip to North America had multiple purposes. First of all, we were honored to be invited to participate at the Daimler Truck North America booth at one of the largest Canadian truck shows, the famous Truck World expo. It was a great pleasure for us to be able to have our small gaming station at the very center of the joint Freightliner Trucks and Western Star Trucks booth. Initially, our plans were to ship one of our 4D Motion Sims there, however, due to multiple logistic issues, mostly caused by heavy congestion in the ports of Hamburg and Montreal, our simulator never made it to the destination in time for the expo.

Our crew found a quick workaround to the problem, which they immediately executed by building a gaming station there from products readily available at local stores. On the shopping list was a gaming PC, a chair, a wheel stand with pedals, a big flat screen, and voila - an improvised gaming station was made.

Not as fancy as our motion sim, but it still did the trick. Local visitors at the event were happy to be able to play our game, and our friends from Daimler Truck North America were satisfied with the result. What a save! A massive thanks to everyone from both the Western Star Trucks and Freightliner Trucks teams who helped us with all these unexpected issues, and who made our crew feel welcome. It was great to hear from the truck manufacturer representatives how much they love the ATS community! Check their messages for you here and here. BTW, we are already working on some new content for you together with DTNA, so stay tuned!
During the opening days of the show, we were lucky enough to meet with quite a lot of fans too. We enjoyed every minute of our long chats and deep discussion about pretty much everything with you, thanks for taking the time to stop by the booth!

However, meeting with the game fans was not the only reason for our presence at this exhibition. Our Industry Partnerships Manager Oscar was with us, too, and that means he was bouncing around, shaking hands, and having promising meetings with representatives from multiple truck OEMs. This may or may not bring some new content for our games in the future. No spoilers for now though!

The other big reason for our trip to Canada was related to our game on a deeper level. We've been lucky enough to get in touch with two amazing guys from our #BestCommunityEver, Daniel and Mark, who helped us by getting three different trucks with different engines, trailers, and mileage so our SFX guys could record truck sounds with them. Our friends really went the extra mile to help us make our games more realistic and we are very grateful and honored to have done these sound recording sessions with them. Mark, Dan, if you're reading this - thank you so much!

Both guys have a great life story too. It turns out that they found and developed their passion and love for trucking through our games! They went on to become professional truck drivers and even owner-operators (a trucker taking on jobs with their own truck) for many years now. It was really cool hanging out with them, chatting about the profession in general and how tough a truck driver's life can be. They provided us with a lot of insights about the automotive industry, trucking, road network, and traffic rules in not just Canada, but in the US as well, and we are going to pass all this along with contacts to them to our other departments for sure! We have prepared a short video for you all and you can check it out and hit the like on it below!
No matter the issues we had to deal with during our trip to Canada, we can say that all the reasons for our stay there, our presence at Truck World, our sound recording sessions, and our licensing talks were a big success and that we had a great time as well. All this would not have been possible without our great, awesome community! We really love you all!
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
If you're watching our social media channels closely, then you probably know a couple of guys from our crew actually haven't come back to Prague with us - they keep on going across the US. We'll be probably covering their journey here later. They still have some more tasks to do, meetings to attend, and ambient and truck sounds to record around a few places throughout the US. We wish them luck that everything goes smoothly and that they'll return back home safe and sound, with a lot of reference material gathered!

We are happy to share with you that the 1.44 update has now been released for Euro Truck Simulator 2. This update is packed with new features and changes, so we recommend reading through them all.
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
We'd like to thank everyone who participated, provided their feedback, and made bug reports during the Open Beta of 1.44. Your valuable input helped us make tweaks, changes and smash some bugs we may have missed the first time around. We hope you can now begin to fully enjoy the various new features which are included within this update, including some new ones that may not have made it during the beta!
Austria Rework
We are excited to bring the highly anticipated Austria Rework as part of this free update for all owners of Euro Truck Simulator 2. Our rework team have been diligently working on updating this magnificent country and today we are excited for you to explore this beautiful country for yourselves.
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
The entire country of Austria has been reworked to bring it up to a true to life standard, as previously this was one of the older original areas of Euro Truck Simulator 2 when it released in 2012. All cities, surrounding areas, and road networks has been given a complete overhaul including the famous Alps!Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
We are sure drivers will face quite the challenge when trucking over these winding roads which travel along the valleys.
Companies Logos Revision
As some of our eagled eye players might have noticed from some our previous blogposts and social media video clips, some of our in-game companies logos featured in the base of game of Euro Truck Simulator 2, have received a rework!
These new modern logos, still stay true with their colour schemes but bring a modern and fresh take on these old-school companies. Keeping modern and up-to date is important for companies, even our virtual ones!
We hope you enjoy spotting these new logos on company trailers and industries across Euro Truck Simulator 2 in the 1.44 update!Mod Refund Feature
Since the introduction of third party modification support in our convoy mode, our team has been working to improve the mod support experience. In this update, we are happy to share a new feature which we hope will further improve the players experience when playing with modifications.
We like to call this new addition the 'Mod Refund' feature. In simple terms, after a player has downloaded a third party modification and used it on their truck, they may in the future want to remove it (or it even may have become incompatible). This new feature reads and recognises the data from the modification, even if it has been removed, and refunds the player the difference with the in-game currency. This removes the problem of players losing money after using a modification.
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
It works by recognising that a crucial part is missing (such as the chassis, engine etc) and replacing it with a default part. Players will be prompted with a pop-up containing information that some parts are being refunded and will be given the option to accept or reject this refund. If you decide to reject the refund and reactivate the mod instead, the truck will now revert to its former glory even if you have saved the game in the meantime.
So, whether you're trucking with friends in a convoy session with mods, or you want to remove a certain modification after use, this new feature will make sure you won't go out of pocket!
Licensed vs Aftermarket Customization Options in UI
Players customising their truck or looking at new parts in the garage may see some new icons appearing in the list. In total we have added 4 new icons to represent what type of accessory it is. When you hover over them, they will show if they are classed as a:
- Factory part - A stock part sold by the manufacturer (including interiors)
- Licensed part - Anything that is officially licensed that is not produced by truck factory
- Aftermarket part - Any additional accessory that is not related to the brand.
- Unknown part - A part that is not recognised or in some cases, a third party modification
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
This should help drivers when it comes to customisation if they wish to keep it within the manufacturers customisation options, or tune their truck further with aftermarket parts. We hope you enjoy this small yet helpful feature!
Accurate Mileage System
Mileage signs are now present in Euro Truck Simulator 2, which add an extra layer of realism. They show the "in-game" distance to a displayed city or landmark. For cities this is normally a central location within the central business district (major intersection, city hall, post office etc).
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
They're particularly handy for players who turn the GPS off and like the challenge of following road signs for their destination. It also gives you an idea of when you should stop for fuel and/or rest breaks etc.
We hope you enjoy this new addition to the roads of ETS2, we are sure many of you will find them useful and immersive on your travels!Unmarked Roads Exploration
With the 1.44 update, we are bringing into ETS2 and ATS a new feature; once you drive onto an unmarked road, you will be notified about having done so with a message in the route advisor, and the explored road will appear on the map as an orange dashed line, with any unexplored part ahead of you shown in grey.
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
On one hand, this will ensure that you will immediately be aware of the fact that you have found something interesting, and on the other hand, if you ever decide to re-visit a hidden zone you will know where to go.
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
Map explorers, do not panic! These unmarked roads do not contribute to your map discovery percentage, but they do add a nice addition to your GPS if you do come across them. You can read more about this new feature here.
Force Feedback Upgrade
This update also includes a few new upgrades to the force feedback experience when playing ATS or ETS2. These changes have been made to represent a more realistic driving experience. These upgrades include:
- New gearbox grind effect simulating vibration of missed gear when using manual shifting.
- New understeer slip effect simulating tyre slip when vehicle is understeering
- Revisited power steering curves and pressure gain of self centering effect to improve steering feel.
- Revisited internal friction force giving better feedback depending on the speed of steering.
Since self centering and internal friction were updated, we highly recommend that you reset the FFB settings to their defaults again.
Smart Sequential Shifting
Smart Sequential Shifting is now available to truckers, if they wish to enable it via the options. So what does it do? In simple terms, when you shift up or down sequentially, it will automatically shift by more gears at once based on the current torque or speed.
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
For this to work, drivers will still need to trigger the shifting process, but once working, should require less input from the driver.
Interior Camera Horizontal Lock
This new option allows truckers driving in the first person view (in the cabin) to lock the camera view to the horizon, so that it moves more independently from the position of the cabin.
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
With the introduction of this new feature, players can find a slider in the options that defines the locking factor; with the slider being to the left disabling the locking and to the right, being the strongest locking option.
Adjustable Suspension Height
Sometimes, when you are driving a big rig, trailer pick ups can be a bit tricky. Adjustable suspension height should help drivers eliminate the problem of hooking up to sometimes problematic trailers or in difficult pick up/delivery area.
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
Drivers now can lower the suspension of their truck to get the correct height for hooking up their trailer, without damaging it. Players will be able to find the inputs for this new adjustable suspension in the options. Its inputs are front up/down and rear up/down.
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
We have also included a new UI prompt which appears when the drivers are having trouble hooking up their trailers after a few attempts. We hope this makes picking up deliveries of any size easier in the future!

Due to the sheer size of Texas DLC, driving through the eastern and western parts might sometimes feel like two different sides of one coin. The various biomes always pave the way for specific industries, and there is one extremely important focused mainly on the east. Let’s take a look at the local logging industry and everything that it will have to offer!
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
Texas is home to approximately 62 million acres of forestland, so it is probably not a surprise that the logging industry has been in constant development for quite a while - in fact for over 180 years! There are records indicating the existence of sawmills near the Gulf coast and inland around the year 1820, which is truly amazing and it just shows exactly why the industry is contributing quite a lot to the current economy of the state.

Whether it will be areas for felling of the trees, sawmills that cut the wood into lumber, or construction sites that build wooden structures, you will always feel that your journey is helping the local economy. And we also know how much you love hauling cargo through challenging dirt roads, so you can look forward to several of those too!

We are happy to share with you that the 1.44 update has now been released for American Truck Simulator. This update is packed with new features and changes, so we recommend reading through them all.

We'd like to thank everyone who participated, provided their feedback, and made bug reports during the Open Beta of 1.44. Your valuable input helped us make tweaks, changes and smash some bugs we may have missed the first time around. We hope you can now begin to fully enjoy the various new features which are included within this update.
California Rework: Phase 2
We are excited to bring Phase 2 of the California Rework as part of this free update for all owners of American Truck Simulator. The focus of this projects sees the cities Eureka, Ukiah, Sacramento, Redding, and Truckee which have been rebuilt from the ground up, along with local landmarks, architecture and surrounding road networks.
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
We will also be saying goodbye to the city of San Rafael. Due to the map scale, we had to make the hard decision to remove the city from the in-game economy. To make up for this, we will be introducing a brand new city, which will be larger and of much greater importance in California's road network in Phase 3 of our ongoing project! Any guesses which one it might be?
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
New rest areas and truck stops have also been implemented, but that isn't all! You will also find new assets, vegetation, and textures too, giving the area a completely new look and feel. We can't wait for you to explore it for yourselves. You can read more all about the rework on previous blogposts which have highlighted the cities and more which have been reworked. Read more here.

Ownable Drop Deck Trailers
In this update, we are happy to introduce a brand new ownable trailer type as well - the drop deck trailer! What makes this trailer special is the fact that it has a lower center of gravity, and it combines the advantages of flatbed and lowboy, which results in a flat surface and a high weight-bearing capacity.Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
It is perfect for hauling items and materials such as aircraft engines, backhoe loaders, forklifts and so much more. Also, because drop decks are low, we had to design new small tires, rims, nuts, and hubs, specifically for this trailer type.
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
In addition to having 3 customizable body types (wood floor, aluminum floor, sliding tarp) and 2 different chassis lengths (48ft or 53ft) with a choice of two, three, or four axles, here is a detailed list of everything you will be able to customize:
- Front walls
- Wind deflector
- Warning flags
- Aluminum boxes
- Chrome boxes
- Side markers
- Rear banners (long load, oversize load, wide load)
- Rear bumpers
- Mudflaps
We hope you enjoy trucking with this sturdy, reliable, and practical trailer type in the 1.44 update.
Cascadia MY2022 Interior OptionsAmong other changes arriving in American Truck Simulator in the 1.44 update, there will also be a rather small addition, that is technically actually bigger than it might seem. We are excited to let you know that we are bringing new interior options for Freightliner Cascadia trucks!
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
In total, there will be 3 new interior trims added for the Freightliner Cascadia in order to line-up with what they are now offering in real-life. The all-new trim designs will be available in all 4 cabin types. But we have also taken a step further with the 72" cabin versions because these trims will include a table with seats in the back as well!
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
We hope you enjoy trucking with these new interior options for the Cascadia. You can read more about the arrival of these new customizations at a previous dedicated blogpost here.
New Special Transport Routes
From oversized cargo to challenging routes, the Special Transport DLC offers players a unique trucking experience; and today we are happy to share that 8 new routes will be arriving to the roads American Truck Simulator in this update.
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
Much like our previous addition of new Special Transport routes to Euro Truck Simulator 2, our team wanted to bring new additional content for our drivers in ATS too! You can find these new contracts between:
Lewiston to Sandpoint
Burlington to Lamar
Salina to Cedar City
Omak to Yakima
Dalles to Salem

With every new map expansion, we are edging closer to realizing complete production chains in the game’s economy. While we are not quite there yet, but important pieces fall into place bit by bit. In the upcoming Montana DLC for ATS, apart from being able to admire the wonderful local scenery, you will also be able to haul to and from several key points that are part of the forestry process!
Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.
With Montana’s forests covering approximately 26 million acres, it is quite clear why this production cycle deserves to be represented in the economy of the state. Especially since the need for truckers is constantly increasing due to the rapid improvement in technology and productivity.

It all begins with the felling of the trees at Timber Harvest, which is probably an area most difficult to reach, as it is often located fairly deep into the woods and only gruesome, dirt roads lead to them. To make matters more challenging, you will have to haul the material through these paths again and head to the Sawmill, a facility where logs are cut into lumber. Afterward, a brand new depot called Landscape Supply comes into play. This area is technically a garden center, that will offer various seeds to be hauled back to Timber Harvest - a step that will make everything come full circle.

Hello truckers!
We come to you with big news regarding the way we issue bans. Following a long internal discussion and having taken into consideration a number of factors, some rather large changes will be made to rule §2.8 - How bans are issued.
As of 4th May 2022, permanent bans due to history will no longer be issued. This means that rule §2.8 - How bans are issued has been updated, and is now written as follows:
§2.8 - How bans are issued
- The first 3 bans are issued at the staff member’s discretion.
- The 4th ban is thirty days.
- The 5th ban and consecutive bans are ninety days.
Any bans older than 12 months at the time of the new ban being issued are ignored, this 12 month period is the ban cooling-off period. Ban extensions are based on the active (less than 12 months old) bans at the time of expiration and will not be altered if a ban goes over the 12 month period while the ban is active. If you have at least two active history bans in your ban history, staff will extend your next ban to ninety days, regardless of how many bans you have had in the last year. Bans that are extended due to history cannot be reduced, they are strictly thirty days and ninety days.
To clarify; if you accumulate 5 or more bans in a 12-month period, all bans starting at your fifth ban will be set to ninety days automatically. This means that your sixth, seventh, etc. ban in a 12-month period will also be set to ninety days.
However, this change only applies to bans that are permanent due to history, not due to hacking, ban evading, or other rule violations that can result in a permanent ban.
We understand that this rule change could leave you with certain doubts or seeking clarification. Therefore, below you can find some common questions and answers regarding these changes:
Will bans previously issued due to history be disabled?
Yes. Through an automated process, we will be disabling previously issued permanent bans extended due to history.
My permanent ban was not disabled, why?
As we are working with a large number of bans, there is always a chance that certain bans could be missed during the mass removal process. In case that applies to you, we invite you to contact us via the appeal system.
Will other types of permanent bans also be disabled?
No. At this time we are only modifying rule §2.8, meaning that only permanent bans due to history are affected by this rule change. All other permanent bans will remain in place (hacking, ban evading, etc).
What will happen if I was recently permanently banned?
If you were permanently banned within the last 90 days, your ban will be modified to expire 90 days from the day it was issued. Please note that these bans will not be disabled immediately, like older permanent bans.
Will other types of permanent bans continue to be issued?
Yes. As this change only affects rule §2.8, there will be no change to the way other types of permanent bans are issued. We understand that people's behaviour and attitudes towards rules can change over time, so we want to give those who have made mistakes in the past another chance to drive on TruckersMP. With these changes, we look forward to welcoming back some former players to our servers.

We have already shown you several interesting locations on our blog from the upcoming California Rework project for American Truck Simulator. However, today we will present to you the changes of something truly special. After all, every state can only have one capital city, and in this case, it is the well-known city of Sacramento!

Sacramento has technically been the capital of California since 1854, so you can clearly see the historical importance that this entire area has nowadays. But, as is often the case, long history goes hand in hand with progress and development of the local industry, therefore, in order to better represent the city’s rich economy in our game, we have decided to not only generally expand it but we are also adding a large logistical park to the southeastern part of the city. Apart from having a very special entrance that will lead to various industrial buildings, such as warehouses, the addition also serves as a great example of our desire to showcase the zoning of cities.

From the perspective of overall infrastructure, the original layout of the city in the game was doing a fairly insufficient job of representing the real-life counterpart. That is why we have made several corrections to the junctions and the road layout, and hopefully, all those who are familiar with Sacramento in the real world will now see the similarities. This road network change has also presented an opportunity the add a part of the long request US 50 road, which we are planning on further extending in the future.

Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen. The updated scale of the city will cover almost four times the size of the original one, which also means an addition of several new landmark buildings, small details around the center, and even an opportunity to spot a landmark tram on a specific location! And an interesting fact for those who are familiar with the real location, we've included a famous truck stop as well!
Finally, the reworked downtown is going to receive a great improvement as well, and it will be really close to a 1:1 scale. Your experience of entering the city from this side will also further be enhanced by several new in-game assets, which were specifically designed for this area.

Hey truckers!
We hope you have been enjoying celebrating #TMP8 with us, and had fun at the various events on offer over the weekend!
A while ago, you may have seen that we mentioned something about buses in TruckersMP in our launcher or on one of our social media channels. The addition of buses has been a much-requested feature in our community for the past few years.Since last year, we have been exploring a partnership with the folks at DBus World to make that a possibility and bring a new way of playing on our servers. As you may already know from the Alternating Vehicles of the past months, our team can bring a bus model themselves, but we want to offer the community more than just a model to drive. Therefore, we are excited to announce that we will be supporting the DBus World client for use on the TruckersMP servers!
So… bus when? Well, we want to provide the bus as soon as possible and we are working hard with DBus World to make it happen. At the moment the final touches are being made and we expect to be able to welcome buses to TruckersMP shortly; from now on, we will provide regular updates on our social media channels.
Initially, we will only offer one bus, as we want to offer the best performance possible without issues caused by file size and animations. We need to evaluate these aspects thoroughly before we can confidently offer more buses, as we only want to provide a polished end product for you to enjoy.
Hopefully, we can count on your support for that!Patreon
We also want to offer an insight into our Patreon campaign. Most of you have probably noticed that activity on our servers had decreased in the second half of 2021 and this was also visible in the revenue that we gathered through Patreon. In the image below, you can see that the monthly income through Patreon has been consistently decreasing since May 2021. This income is important for us to ensure that our Game Developers can devote their precious time to TruckersMP, to ensure that regular updates take place and that new features are developed for the community. Later this year, we plan to introduce additional and new benefits for Patrons as we develop them.

Are you currently a Patron or have you been a Patron before? We would love to hear your views and opinions on our current campaign so we can make it even better!
It would be great if you could help us by participating in this short survey: https://truckersmp.com/survey/15Other Plans
Our lead Developer, mwl4, is currently working to improve our current codebase. This is a crucial task in order to fulfill one of our long term ambitions: to introduce AI traffic on TruckersMP servers. We are hoping to update you on AI traffic in TruckersMP later this year but we will have to see what the coming months will bring. You can learn more in this blog post.
You can also expect to see more features added to the Job Tracker and Job Dispatcher, as well as further improvements to the in-game user interface and the achievement system. We will also be looking into bringing in-game profiles, which you can fully customize to represent who you are, what you prefer doing on our servers, and show off things you unlocked.
But that's all for now! We are looking forward to the future and to see what it brings. As always, thank you to everybody who continues to support TruckersMP, and allows us to continue creating this one of a kind modification!
We are looking forward to another year full of new content!Smoky

It feels like it has been a while since our latest Under The Hood blog episode. This series was created to bring to you some cool behind-the-scenes information from the development of our games and the work of our team members in general. We are glad to let you know that we have another exclusive peek for you, this time about the role of Concept Art in our games and a closer look at some of our artists and their responsibilities!

Back in the day, as a smaller and less skilled team of enthusiasts, we were creating everything for our games on our own, sometimes without proper experience. Therefore we used to take inspiration from the world around us, often bending it to our needs. And even though those times were fine and we like to reminiscence about them, it is also good that we are growing and we now have so many new and talented colleagues that can help us with how our games and the assets within them can be made.
Along the way, we have discovered the beauty of concept art which we never thought could offer so many opportunities and usage means within our trucking titles, as we were used to the idea of concept art being more fitting for RPG games or similar genres. But it is so exciting how our new and experienced colleagues (especially Annie who was our first Concept Artist) opened our eyes and showed us the undeniable importance of this particular department.

Concept Art has found many unique uses within our games and it helps a great deal with connecting several different aspects of the in-game world in order to breathe a sense of realism and life into it. Additionally, our artists are capable of creating much more accurate graphical designs and assets, which offers invaluable support to the other teams and takes the pressure off their shoulders.
Here are some examples along with screenshots of what concept art involves in our games:

In addition to all of these examples, some awesome artwork is (and might be) also occasionally used for our microsites and their extras section, and looking into the future, we might also test the waters by creating special posters or unique collector edition artbooks. In a similar fashion, the skills of our colleagues are sometimes put to the test when creating original designs for T-Shirts dedicated to new map expansions.

There are currently 4 Concept Artists in SCS Software (2 for ATS, 2 for ETS2), and we have sat down with all of them in order to ask them a couple of personal questions about their responsibilities and their opinion on this specific position and working at SCS as a whole. Here is a summary of everything that they had to say from their perspective!

I was hired in January 2020. At the time I was the only 2D artist working in assets, so I was involved with both ATS and ETS2. The position was brand new, and eventually, with the ever-increasing amount of workload that has become too much for one person to handle, I moved to work on ATS exclusively. Apart from concept art for brands, props, and buildings for ATS, I am also sometimes involved with designing truck skins, vehicle looks, cosmetic items, and graphics for marketing purposes.

I’ve been involved in the development of Iberia, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Texas and I’ve done work for the Austria and California reworks too. I’ve also designed many of the props in the ATS & ETS2 cabin accessories DLC. My favorite projects I’ve worked on have been fast-food chains for ATS, Cabin accessories props, and then… some things we haven’t announced yet (smirk).

What I love about my job is the vast variety of tasks that come my way, as well as the freedom I am presented with. I also enjoy making our in-game world feel more real and connected - whenever I create a new brand, I always think about all the different ways we could incorporate it into our world. On the other hand, the most challenging thing about my job is when I have a deadline to meet but I am completely "bankrupt" creatively when it comes to my ideas and imagination.

When it comes to the software and hardware I use, I currently work in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. I also use a graphic tablet - in my case, a small Wacom Intuos Pro. Although, eventually, I’d like to expand my repertoire and slowly venture into the world of 3D modeling!

If there’s something I want to suggest to someone who wants to work as a 2D artist for a company that at a first glance may seem like it’s got no need for 2D artists, apply anyway. That’s exactly how I got hired at SCS - I called HR, asked if they were looking for concept artists, told the company what I can do, and sent them my CV and portfolio. Even though I was initially told there was no such position open at SCS, I was contacted again 3 weeks later and invited to a job interview because a need for a 2D artist had just arisen.Bitte melde dich an, um dieses Bild zu sehen.

I was hired in January 2022 as a 2D Graphic Designer for ETS2.
Most of all I like the variety of tasks and complete freedom of the work process. Also, I love the fact that there is a variety of countries in ETS2, so every texture and art you design for a particular map DLC will be different from others because of cultural differences.

I like to imagine what this or that object could look like, but most of all I love the visualization process itself and the ability to use my creative side. I love the branding part, to imagine what colors would be used, how ads will be looking, and so on. The hardest part, interesting enough, is to imagine the concept itself.
The most important software for me is Adobe Photoshop, along with Adobe Illustrator. However, I can’t imagine doing things without listening to Spotify at the same time! Regarding hardware, I am working on a PC, with Wacom Tablet and IPad.

For anyone interested in creating artworks or concept art, I would suggest trying and taking any chance to get a job in the field. You shouldn’t give up if you want to work in the gaming industry.

I came to SCS from another gaming company as a 3D Artist, but since I also have many years of experience with promotional graphics, I also help with 2D concepts and asset design. In addition to concept art, I also create assets for ATS, so I work on DLCs, such as Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Texas, and other projects you can look forward to!

Working at SCS Software is a diverse, creative job, and I'm happy to have the opportunity to design anything new and translate my ideas into logo design, assets, etc. The most difficult thing, however, is being creative every single day.

In regards to software, I am using Adobe Photoshop for general work, and another software for vector and logo designs.
To anyone who is thinking about applying for this or a similar position, I’d advise them to not be afraid and try it. A good art concept is always appreciated, and having the opportunity to progress it to the final form in a project is absolutely invaluable.

I joined SCS in October 2021 and took over the work on ETS2 from Annie. My first tasks were dedicated mostly to the concept art of new companies and to the redesign of some older brands. With time, the job became more and more exciting. I got a chance to work on some concept art for gas stations, buses, trams, and also new company signs.

I particularly enjoy the variety of work. There are always different tasks and challenges. The best part of concept art for me is when you actually see your design in the game. It is no longer only a picture but it is something that will interact with our ETS2 world and be real in a way. The hardest part is always to find a balance between what I like, what is expected, and how things look in the real life.

I applied for a 3D graphic position initially. Later on, our HR saw my 2D works, and then 2D graphic position was offered to me. So, I believe this is what you might have heard many times but it is true. If you want something, do it, just send your CV anyway or call a company. There is no crime in just asking and you never know, maybe this company is in need of you right now!

We’d like to thank you all very much for reading this massive article. We hope it was interesting for you to find out more about how things are done behind the scenes, or, pardon us, under the hood. We know you love these pieces of the in-game worlds and we will do our best so you can see more new brands, fast-food chains, advertisement assets within the game, new gas stations, companies, and much more in the future!
We reserve the right to change, adjust, use, or don't use at all any of the images shown and presented within this article. Most of them are meant and used as inspirational or illustrative assets during the process of development of our games and DLCs, but not as a promise of future content.

Located on the Missouri River in the heart of Montana, you'll find the city of Great Falls. As the third largest city in the state, this city offers visitors a haven of culture, history and natural beauty. Named after one of the five waterfalls in the area, we are excited to bring this city to life in our upcoming Montana DLC.
